Frequently Asked Questions

Have questions about Brownsburg Youth Sports? Find answers to our most frequently asked questions below.

Why is Brownsburg Youth Sports (BYS) building this complex?

As Brownsburg continues to grow, so does the need for quality athletic spaces. This project is an investment in the future, creating room for programs to grow, families to connect, and young athletes to thrive.

Is this organization the new Brownsburg Little League Baseball (BLLB) and Brownsburg Girls Softball Little League (BGSLL)?

No. BYS is not a replacement for BLLB and BGSLL or any existing sports organization.

The vision is to strengthen youth athletics across Brownsburg by helping families discover and connect with local leagues, facilities, programs, and opportunities throughout the community. The BYS website serves as a central hub for information, making it easier for families to find ways to get involved in youth sports.

At the same time, BYS is leading the development of a dedicated complex that will support baseball, softball, Challenger Adaptive Baseball athletes and families, and future opportunities as the needs of our community continue to grow.

Simply put, BYS exists to help connect families, support local programs, and create more opportunities for kids to play, grow, and succeed through youth athletics.

How was the land acquired or chosen?

This property wasn’t chosen by accident. It gives BYS the space, accessibility, and long-term potential needed to create something truly special for Brownsburg families. The land was formerly owned by Brownsburg Community School Corporation (BCSC), and with BGSLL as a committed partner, all parties agreed to a mutually beneficial land agreement, transferring the former BGSLL property to the school district and acquiring the land that will become the future BYS complex. This new land gives BYS several more acres, easy access for families via Ronald Reagan Parkway, and the potential for close amenities along Ronald Reagan. Most importantly, this site provides room not only for the initial phase of the BYS complex, but also for future growth as the needs of our community continue to evolve.

That transition created an opportunity to move from a facility with limited long-term flexibility to a property that provides room for growth and future development. While planning and fundraising activities continue, the new property remains under an agricultural lease that helps generate revenue to support the project.

This wasn’t simply about relocating fields. It was about creating a path toward a sports facility that gives athletes, families, and future generations more opportunities than ever before.

Why did the Brownsburg Girls Softball Little League fields get torn down before the new facility is built?

As part of a mutually beneficial land agreement, signed November 9, 2023, the BGSLL transferred the property along O’Dell Street to BCSC on July 15, 2026, and acquired the land that will become the future BYS complex. The contract allows the BGSLL program to have use of five BCSC fields through December 31, 2030, to allow time for BYS to construct new fields.

Where will the Brownsburg Girls Softball Little League play now?

As part of a planned transition, BYS, BGSLL and the school district worked together on a long-term solution that will support the future needs of both organizations. During this transition, programs will continue through partnerships and coordinated scheduling with local BCSC facilities. BGSLL is working closely with coaches, families, and community partners to ensure girls have opportunities to play, develop their skills, and stay connected to the game.

The first phase of the new complex is dedicated to softball, with four permanent fields planned.

The commitment is simple: keep girls playing today while building a dedicated home for tomorrow.

My son plays as part of Brownsburg Little League Baseball. When will this affect our family?

Now. Many families know Arbuckle Acres Park as the home of Brownsburg Little League Baseball, but not all baseball activities have historically taken place there. As participation has grown, additional facilities like the Brownsburg Middle Schools’ softball fields have helped accommodate practices, games, and scheduling needs across the program.

The need for overflow field space isn’t new. Since one of the original Arbuckle diamonds was removed, portions of the baseball program have relied on additional facilities to help accommodate participation and scheduling needs.

Today, with softball families also relying on shared local facilities during this transition period, field availability has become an even more important issue for the entire youth sports community.

Arbuckle Acres Park will remain the home of Brownsburg Little League Baseball. The additional diamonds planned as part of the BYS complex will help create more flexibility, support future growth, and ensure local programs have the space they need to continue serving families.

Simply put, more field space creates more opportunities for kids to get on the field and enjoy the game.

Will Arbuckle Acres Park still host Brownsburg Little League baseball?

Absolutely.

Arbuckle Acres Park will continue to be the home of Brownsburg Little League Baseball and remains a valued part of our community’s youth sports tradition.

The BYS complex is not designed to replace the fields at Arbuckle Acres. Instead, it is intended to complement existing facilities by providing additional fields that help support growth within the program, ease scheduling challenges, and create more opportunities for practices, games, and special events.

At its core, this project is about serving more families, creating more access for young athletes, and ensuring that baseball in Brownsburg continues to thrive for years to come.

More kids playing. More families connected. A stronger community for everyone.

Why not just expand at Arbuckle Acres?

The park has limited room for expansion and is managed by the Brownsburg Parks Department. The BYS complex provides an opportunity to add much-needed field capacity, support future growth, and create additional space for practices, games, tournaments, and expanded opportunities for local programs.

Our goal isn’t to replace the tradition of Arbuckle Acres Park, but to complement existing facilities and help ensure Brownsburg can continue meeting the needs of a growing youth sports community.

Who will be able to utilize the Brownsburg Youth Sports complex?

The complex is being developed to support baseball, softball, Challenger Adaptive Baseball athletes and families, and future opportunities as the needs of our community continue to grow.

In addition to games and practices, the facility is designed to create space for tournaments, community events, and activities that bring people together.

The vision is simple: create a place where young athletes can develop, families can connect, and local programs have room to grow.

Is the BYS complex only for one organization?

No. The vision for BYS is bigger than any single league or program.

The BYS website is designed to serve as a community resource, helping families discover local leagues, facilities, programs, and athletic opportunities throughout Brownsburg. The complex itself will support baseball, softball, Challenger Adaptive Baseball athletes and families, and future opportunities as the needs of our community continue to grow.

Our goal is to help strengthen youth athletics across the community by creating more awareness, more access, and more opportunities for families to get involved.

How are these new fields going to be funded?

The BYS complex is being funded through a combination of Founding Partner commitments, sponsorships, community support, and traditional financing. No single donor or funding source is responsible for the project.

Like most large community projects, development will move forward in phases as funding milestones are reached. This approach allows us to be responsible with resources while building a facility that can serve Brownsburg families for years to come.

Support from local businesses, community partners, and individual supporters plays an important role in making the project possible. Every partnership helps bring the vision closer to reality.

We’re committed to being thoughtful, transparent, and financially responsible throughout the process. This is a long-term investment in youth athletics and the future of our community.

How can I support the project?

There are many ways to be part of bringing this vision to life.

Community members can support the project through sponsorships, volunteer efforts, fundraising initiatives, advocacy, and by helping spread awareness throughout the community.

Every partnership, contribution, and conversation helps create more opportunities for local families and young athletes.

Together, we’re building something that will serve Brownsburg for years to come.

What is the timeline?

We are currently in the foundation stage of the project.

The land is secured, a pair of wells have been installed, and site planning continues as fundraising and development efforts move forward.

The first phase focuses on the softball fields and site infrastructure, followed by future phases that expand the complex and add additional amenities over time.

We’re committed to building this the right way, with a focus on long-term sustainability, responsible growth, and creating something our community can be proud of.

Updates will be shared as milestones are achieved.

I don't have kids. Why should I care?

You don’t have to be a baseball or softball family to benefit from a strong community.

Youth sports help create places where families connect, volunteers give back, local businesses engage, and young people learn valuable life skills. The BYS complex is an investment in community space that will serve families today while helping keep Brownsburg a place people are proud to call home.

Even if you’ll never sit in the bleachers, you’ll still benefit from living in a community that invests in its future.
